Our Goals

  • Assess the services available in the region of Ruse, and find appropriate alternatives for the children and young adults (including foster care and/or the return of children to their parents with the provision of training, rehab therapy, and counseling).

  • Create programs for prevention and early intervention at local service centers to prevent children from being sent to institutions, working with parents, pediatricians, counselors, and local government officials.

  • Create a training program to train more specialists based upon the community's needs.

  • Create an educational and rehabilitation program for these young adults and children including:
social workers, teachers, physical and speech therapists.

Karina Needs Your Help!

We are in need of both financial support and as well as volunteers with valuable skills and expertise. At this early stage of our campaign we urgently need people with the following areas of expertise: therapists, psychologists, social workers, special education teachers, mentors, musicians, art therapists, human development specialists, accountants, fundraisers, and home renovators. We especially need people who have a call to give the most precious gift, the gift of love.

Please contact us if you are able to give the gift of time and love to help these children.

KARINA ASSOCIATION is in partnership with The Trussell Trust in UK and would like to invite volunteers from the USA to join the British team on a TREK to Bulgaria in September 2010. We will be able to campaign to raise support and awearness about the abandoned children of Bulgaria. To register send an email to biliana@karinaassociation.org
